Work Experience: After graduating in 1987 with my Ph.D, I went to work at Union Carbide Corporation, Bound Brook, NJ as a research engineer. While there, I enjoyed being immersed in my research work involving organic chemicals, both in the lab and the pilot plant where we scaled up the quantities of newly designed chemicals. But my calling to teach tugged at my heartstrings, and I decided to teach science at Trinity Pawling High School in Pawling, NY. After 4 years and much successes at TP, I took a position as an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at Manhattan College, which I continued for 3 years until leaving for another high school teaching position at W.T.Clarke High School in Westbury, NY. After 3 years there and again with much accolades under my belt, especially leading students in the art of science research, I took on a position at Bay Shore High School at Bay Shore, NY where I began a science research program. I then taught at two other high schools in NY before my family and I decided we needed a ‘change of scene’ and so moved south to the foothills of the Shenandoah and very happily lived in Front Royal, Virginia from 2005 through 2013. While there, I taught science at Notre Dame Academy located in scenic Middleburg, VA, and then at Chelsea Academy in Front Royal. While at both schools, I began their Science Olympiad programs and also had students pursue science research. I enjoyed particular success with two of my students whose research projects were of high enough caliber to be selected to present at Georgetown University’s prestigious Annual JSHS. Despite a wonderful life style in N.VA, and a successful career, in the summer of 2013 my family and I were ready for another move and relocated to the Midwest. With this move, my teaching career took a shift to teaching Junior High Science here at Holy Trinity Catholic School where my passion to teach continues.

Teaching Philosophy:

Passions and Interests: As my life’s journey continues, more and more I see how much God’s Love fills my life and others’. He is always there for us, if only we stop and listen carefully for his voice. I see his love in so many ways: in nature, in the faces and faith of all those around me, and especially in my growing family.
