Education:

Master of Science Degree in Education Leadership; University of Kansas

Work Experience:
I spent the first five years of my teaching career in Osage, Iowa, as a high school and junior high social studies teacher and coach.  In 1984, my wife, Dawn, and I moved to the Kansas City area where I took a job in the Blue Valley School District as an 8th grade social studies teacher at Leawood Middle School, and Dawn worked as a fourth grade teacher in the Olathe School District.  At Leawood Middle, I coached girls basketball and track. From there, I moved to Oxford Middle School in 1988, where I also taught 8th grade social studies and coached football, boys and girls basketball, and track.  I taught in the Blue Valley School District for twelve years, and then, in 1996, I accepted an assistant principal position in the Olathe School District at Oregon Trail Junior High. I worked at Oregon Trail for four years and then I transferred to Chisholm Trail Middle School, for the opportunity to open a new school.  I worked at Chisholm Trail for the  sixteen years until moving to Holy Trinity for the 2016-17 school year.  I feel very blessed to be a part of HTS, and I enjoy working with Scott, Liz, and the entire faculty and staff here at HTS!

Family:
My wife, Dawn, and I were married in 1982 and will celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary this year.  We were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Sarah and Emily.  Both girls were born here in the Kansas City area and continue to live in the area.  Sarah currently works as a Child Life Specialist in the pediatric cancer unit at Children's Mercy Hospital.  Emily and her husband Kyle, live in Olathe, where she is a full-time wife, and mother to our 2 and a half year old grandson, Damon. Kyle is an assistant service manager at McCarthy Nissan in Olathe.

My wife, Dawn, is also an educator.  She taught 4th grade in Osage, Iowa, and here in the Olathe School District before staying home to raise our two daughters.  Dawn has also been a Parent Educator with the Olathe Parents as Teachers program and has worked at the Learning Center at College Church in Olathe.  Currently, Dawn is a preschool teacher at Noah's Ark Preschool in Olathe.

Passions and Interests:
My biggest passion is just spending time with my family.  A perfect day for me would be getting the whole family together for a meal or celebration and just enjoying each other's company.  Other passions and interests include following the University of Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball teams, hunting pheasants with my Labrador retriever, Riley, working in the yard, or just being in the great outdoors!

Favorite Scripture:
Colossions 3:12    "As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience."
